I love Mexico and plan to retire there. But if there was one thing I could change about Mexico, it would be to take money away from the politicians who are getting richer from graft and raise the standard of living of the 40 percent of the people living in poverty.

Great country, evolving, friendly industrious people, rich in history. I live in Baja Norte...not much cultural history here, very Americanized, but beaches are great, wine country becoming a tourist attraction good for the economy.

I'd love to see Mexico some day, lovely food there lol.

Mexico is probably the most corrupt country in the Western Hemisphere. Corruption = Amount of money politic ans steel.

The culture there is amazing though. And unlike in other countries where I've traveled, nobody gives you funny stares or is unkind. (I also went to Lebanon in 2006, before the 2006 Israel-Lebanon war, and everyone there hated me)

The one thing I would change (besides the government) are the bugs. I went to southern Mexico and the mosquitoes were the size of my fist.
