Flying into Mexico Question? |
I will be flying to ixtapa, with a connecting flight in mexico city. Do i go through customs in mexico city, or not untill i arrive in Ixtapa. i will be checking my luggage, do i need to pick it up befor going to customs or just pick it up in ixtapa
im a little confused and nervouse about the customs process because i will only have 1 hour between flights, can someone help me ?

If you have a connecting flight in Mexico City, then you will check customs in Mexico City, and your luggage will be checked by customs also, so you have to pick it up, check it with customs.
Try to call to your travel agency, because sometimes it can take more than 1 hour to do this process, and international arrivals are not so close to domestic departures. |

The first answer is right. You have to go through customs in Mexico City as soon as you get off the plane. After going through customs you will get your bags and then take them to a conveyor belt and just throw them on there and the airline will take care of the rest. The baggage part is not what you have to worry about taking time, its going through customs and immigration that will get you. You're going to be cutting it very close but you should make it. |

You go thru Customs when you first enter Mexico so it will be Mexico City, you will pick up your luggage then go thru customs and recheck your luggage for the final part of your flight. |

You will be dealing with customs In Mexico DF. That airport is pretty big. My husband and I had a trip to Mazatlan and we had to stop in Mexico before. Good Luck people try to help you with your luggage and then you tip them and because they know that your from the States they start complaining about the tip. lol personal experience. |

The first place that you land in a foreign country is always the place that you have to go through customs - wait and pick up your bag and in line for customs and then drop of your bags with your airlines (usually just past Customs).
One hour may not be enough time to do this especially if your plane is delayed. |
