The best and newest hotel is the Iberostar Grand. It is one fine hotel, all adult and it would be a great Honeymoon. It is expensive, but the Hotel is fabulous. Check it out on Iberostar's website or tripadvisor.com, Playa Del Carmen -hotels, it is ranked #1 and it is fabulous. Just read the reviews and you'll find out. |

I wouldn't recommend the Moon Palace for a Honeymoon. I think it is more of a family property. Course in Nov. you shouldn't encounter as many families unless you travel over thanksgiving.
There are so very many parts of Mexico you could go to as well as tons of All Inclusive choices. I honestly would take suggestions of places to stay with a grain of salt. What say your neighbor loves, you might hate. Everyone has different expectations as well as each one has different atmospheres they offer, etc.
I would strongly suggest working with a travel specialist as they can ask you various questions to help determine where they feel anyways is the best destination & resort for you. They can also work within your budget as best as possible and do all in there power to ensure a wonderful Honeymoon. Now with travel issues CAN and DO sometimes happen. With an agent you always have someone in your corner to help you.
Now with ANY job there are good and bad agents. Much against popular belief agents (at least our agency doesn't) don't tack on commissions. If you book directly through a company you pay the same price it's just that vendor makes more money. Many agents however will charge a very nominal service fee but it really is worth it! |

We stayed at the Riu Cancun and it was awesome! Everything is included - meals, drinks (including alcohol), shows, etc. There were 4 restaurants from which to choose: Japanese, Mediterranean, an outdoor steakhouse, and a restaurant with a different theme each night (French, Mexican, Italian, etc). They were all really good.
The pools there are nice - big, well-kept, etc. One pool (mabye 2?) has lounge chairs sitting on a ledge in the pool. That was soooo nice. Another pool has a bar in it.
There are several bars in the resort, so one is always close.
The rooms were really nice. We had a jr suite and it was great. It was big, we had a nice view, the bathroom was nice. The beds were hard, but not too bad. You also get a mini-bar stocked with beer, water, and soda as well as a liquor dispenser in your room. All included and restocked frequently.
The beach was nice and they had a lifeguard. The only thing I would have liked was a bar down at the beach. But it wasn't far to travel up to the pool for a drink. And if you bring your own giant cup, they'll fill that with whatever you want to order.
The activities staff really worked hard and kept things fun. There were water volleyball games, ping pong tournaments, a banana eating contest, beer drinking contests, and tons others. There was always something to do. They had a Mexican fiesta one night and it was so much fun.
Have a great trip! :o) |
