Summer clothes. It's very casual in Cozumel. Shorts, Capris, jean skirt, bring several bathing suits and cover ups. You will need lots of sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, ipod, camera. Save some room in your suitcase for all your new purchases. Beautiful silver jewelry. The real stuff.
The saying goes like this "bring half the clothes and double the money"!
Have a great time and relax.) |

I was just there three weeks ago and it was very warm then, so it still should be warm but not overly hot. It is humid, so you know your body type better than anyone, bring clothes for that type of weather. |

things that are light and airy. flip-flops, shorts. Just pack your typical 'vacation' clothes. Bring a HAT!! :) Cozumel is awesome, I loved it when I went. |

We were there Feb 2-9th at the Palace Resort. Where will you be staying? I ask because if it is the Palace you don't need much in the way of toiletries, they are TRULY all-inclusive!
In any case - Light layers.
I usually wear a sweatshirt (hoodie) over t-shirt or polo shirt, jeans & sneakers on the plane (that way you have your sneakers but don't have to carry them, ha!) Then once at the resort peel them off and save for the return trip.
2-3 swimsuits, shorts (or capris for gals), tanks and some t-shirts to cover up in case you get too much sun. A couple sundresses or skirts and swim cover-up for the gals, for the guys it would not hurt to have some khakis or other long pants and aloha shirt or two; some resorts require long pants and button-down shirt in the more formal restaurants. Mostly I live in flip flops down there but the sneakers or some river sandals come in handy if you do any hiking or tours.
Hat, shades (sun is VERY intense - I suggest wearing a dark t-shirt over your swimsuit while snorkeling) also obviously sunscreen, bug spray if you plan to go into the jungle (for example an ATV tour or maybe to Coba or Chichen Itza or Tulum.)
Check out this website, written by people who live on Coz; lots of tips including what to pack, it helped me a lot:

Packing in particular:

Mexico as a whole is Catholic and rather conservative so save your skimpy outfits (if any) for around the resort and do not wear them out on the streets, so as not to offend sensibilities. |

Bring all your summer clothes and a sweater. You won't need a coat. Next bring Imodium with you because you need to be prepared. Makeup needs to be the kind that won't melt off because it can be rather humid there. Sandals and swimwear are a must. In fact, forget stockings or fancy shoes. That's about it. Have a great trip. |

Be careful!!!! I was just in Cozumel for the 1st time in December and we went snorkeling. As soon as I jumped into the water I felt something sting me. My husband was laughing and said nothing was around me. But I kept getting stung over and over again. Apparently I was not the only person because they cut our snorkeling tour short, it was only15 minutes long. Getting back into the boat I kept getting stung. Talking to some of the other women on board they got stung too. They then dropped us off at a beach and I was swelling up all over. I took a shower but that didn't help. I went and saw a medic and he told me "When yellow fish fell threaten the release a poison toxin in the water". He then took some vinegar and sprayed me down with it, and it finally took the sting away. Its funny NOBODY wanted to talk about it, No one from the snorkeling tour, or the cruise ship we were on. They want to sell their tours, so no one warns you about these things. So HAVE FUN!!!! |

You didn't mention when you're going. Check out the Weather Channel online and look at forecasts for the dates you will be there. |
