If they allow you to take it in a carry-on, take a hand sanitizer. Sometimes you may not be near a restroom, you'll need to somehow have your hands clean before you eat.
Also, take toilet paper, some places charge you 3 pesos to use their restroom, like bus stations etc. and you might need some extra toilet paper as it often may not be in the bathroom stall but where they are charging you from.
Oh yes, and take some Immodium!! You'll be sorry if you don't! Don't drink "aguas frescas" from the streets because, yes they're delicious, but again, you'll be sorry! Buy soft drinks instead or bottled water to wash down your food.
