Has Cancun recovered from the hurricanes of last year? Are the beaches back to beautiful?

I am planning a trip in January and am leaning toward staying at Secrets. Has anyone been recently? Thanks

Things are back to normal. Try Riviera Maya, the beaches there in most places improved...the hurricane deposited more sand on the beaches so they can out better than before the hurricane. I like Playa del Carmen and Puerto Aventuras.

Hola. There are 2 Secrets. Both are south of Cancun. If you travel to the Hotel Zone in January, chances are all but maybe 2 or 3 Hotels will be fully open, as well as the remaining stores and restaurants.

When I was there in May, the beaches were just about as large as I've ever seen them since first going in 1991. 20+ trips since then. :) They are not as milky white and powdery as they once were however. Saludos, Tim

Yes it has recovered quite well at the more reputable resorts

I'm currently living in Cancun and was here during the hurricane. Cancun is back to normal, there are still hotels rebuilding but the majority are up and running. The beaches are better than ever. There is 2 to 3 times more beach now then there was before the hurricane. So, you can say it's back to normal if not a little better.

This site might be more objective and factual than a site selling vacations.
