I have not personally. When I went I felt very safe. No one bothered me at all. However, I think you should read the US State Department's official word about crime in Cancun, Mexico. Here it is.
"There have been a significant number of rapes reported in Cancun. Many of these have occurred at night or in the early morning. Attacks have also occurred on deserted beaches and in hotel rooms. Acquaintance rape is a serious problem. In other cases, hotel workers, taxi drivers, and security personnel have been implicated." |

That will never happen in Cancun resorts area, Cancun its safe even if you go down town, of course, if you go alone in the night to a dangerous area, not only there but anywhere in the world you may be in a high risk of that kind of violence |
