Just got back from Tulum. It's about an hour and a half south of Cancun airport. We stayed at the Freedom Paradise Maya Tankah and had a wonderful time. We went snorkelling, visited the Mayan ruins of Tulum, met the locals, shopped, relazed...absolutely divine. For lots of traveller reviews, check out tripadvisor. The weather this week (Apr 14-20) was amazing --- 80-85F every day but with a nice sea breeze. Hotel rates vary by season. |

I visited Playa del Carmen and it was worth every cent. I stayed for 5 days and wished I could of spent more. The beaches are beautiful, the water a beautiful turquoise. There's Mayan ruins nearby, you just have to find a tour, which are offered by hotels. I bought the all inclusive and dont regret it at all. Few times we did eat out but rarely. |

I love the rivera Maya iwas so much fun!!! It is defenitly worth it!! I went to the Barcelo Maya Beach Resort!! It was so fun Go to 5th avenue shopping!!! I don't know how much it was my grandpa and grandma paid for the whole family and died 2 weeks after we got back but anyways the only part is do not drink the Water!!!!!!!!!!!! |

There´s a lot to do, Water Sports, Mayan Ruins, Xel-Ha, Xcaret, swimming with dolphins, eating and shopping in Playa del Carmen, Night clubbing in Cancun or Playa del Carmen, a lot of options in hotels (Gran Turismo, 5 and 4 stars hotels). Rates go from 300 to 100. |

right now, the riviera maya is in much better shape than Cancun proper. There is a ton of variety in prices and degrees of luxury in hotels in the area. Good places to look into are all-inclusives in Puerto Morelos, and hotels in Playa del Carmen and Puerto Aventuras.
Definitely worth the while. Rates are comparable to hotels in Cancun. |
