King of CancĂșn

YES, I've been to CancĂșn and loved it so much I bought a place in CancĂșn. It's very beautiful in CancĂșn. They have gorgeous turquoise, blue oceans and white, powdery sands and the warm Mayan sun...it's paradise. Yes, you can get peace and quiet. The southern part of CancĂșn is the more quiet/relaxing section. The later weeks of March and beginning of April is spring break time, so if you don't like rowdy, drunk teens then avoid this time. There are a lot of hotels/resorts that are adults only so you can get some peace and quiet there. Most of all the resorts are relaxing though and the only real rowdiness is when you go out at night into the hotel zone to all the bars and clubs, but generally speaking the hotels/resorts are never that rowdy...they won't allow it...except during spring break then some of the hotels are like a huge club instead of a hotel. CancĂșn is known for it's nightlife so, if you don't like to have a good time and unwind then it may not be for you. Why everyone is dissing on it, I don't know, they knew what they were getting into and if they didn't like the partying then they should have not went to CancĂșn. Don't listen to everyone that gives you the wrong information on here...most have never been and get their info from websites or a lot are very undereducated about CancĂșn. People are mislead about CancĂșn's reputation. YES, you can go and relax and enjoy some peace and quiet, it's not always about partying. You can relax on the beach at almost all the resorts and not be bothered. So, I say yes go and enjoy your time. You will be able to relax. Like I mentioned the southern section of the hotel zone is the more quiet part so you may want to look into a hotel/resort that is located in that part. Enjoy your time if you go...you will have a great time guaranteed! |

well it depends on what time of year you want to go, the summer time its hot and very humid, its nice and all but you have to be very careful where you go and who you trust i stayed at the Oasis maya and it had multiple parts of the hotel one was for couples and the other was more up scale than the others, another Hotel i saw was Dreams? i think it is called they have dolphins that you can swim with and alot of things to do during the day. but both hotels have very nice spas and very nice beaches where you can relax |

Just don't go in April or July and you will be fine. There is something for everyone. If you want to party of course you can and there is tons to do. BUT remember, this is also a very historic site with ancient ruins, underwater caves, museums, amazing award winning restaurants, nice/sweet people, and you can do sooo much like snorkling, take a cruise to the islands, go horseback riding, etc. I love this place and will go back soon! Have fun! |

Cancun is what you make it, with a little influence from the time of year you go there. As was mentioned, staying in a hotel (one that's not known for its party atmosphere) that's not located in or near the club zone will be more peaceful, though I've stayed a few blocks away and had a very relaxing time. There are plenty of places to go that aren't rowdy or filled with drunken teenagers - if you go to party places and aren't happy about it, you can't blame Cancun, you just need to keep looking for your kind of place. The hotel staff should be able to help you find what you're looking for. The best times of year to go, in my opinion, are November thru early December and late April thru May. Fewer people, not so hot temps, most relaxing.
My favorite place to stay there is the Westin, which is farthest away from the "action" and very peaceful, relaxing, and accommodating. |

Cancun is very immature for my liking. A lot of under 21's go there and act like fools when they get drunk. (of course this is worse during Spring break and summer vacation time) You can defintely get some peace and quite at your hotel/resort though. But, if you are looking for tropical relaxation, I would not choose Cancun. |
