I live in Cancun ma'm.

Compared to other destinations here in Mexico, Cancun is probably the most expensive out of them, followed by Cozumel, but let me tell you it is worth the money.

Compared to other places in the US I would say cancun would be on #6-7 in your scale. I found going to New York a lot more expensive than cancun. New York would be a 10. Las Vegas would be cheaper than going to cancun, I say Vegas would stay around a 5.

To me honest, it is certainly worth the money. You will probably never see such beauty, class, culture, and fun like you will see in Cancun. Take a trip to the outer cities of cancun like Playa Del Carmen, Xel Ha, or a ferry to the island of Cozumel. Also take a ferry from cancun to Isla Mujeres. It's beautiful over there. Oh and never forget the nightlife! Cancun Nightlife is better than Vegas Nightlife honestly! haha.
Hope you come visit Cancun. you probably won't want to leave this place haha. it happened to me and look! 5 years living in cancun already haha.

Yes, I've been there. It all depends on what you consider "very expensive". I went 4 years ago, when travel was cheaper. Overall, it wasn't too expensive then. Going now will cost a lot more.

It really all depends on what kind of deal you can get. In all my years of going to CancÃºn I've never spent over $1000 for a trip there. Before I moved to CancÃºn I would just use a "real" travel agent and they always found great deals. I stay away from the travel sites like orbitz, travelocity, etc. they are a rip off. The same week for all-inclusive including air I can get for only around $800 where are online the same hotel all-inclusive they want around $1600.
I always use to see deals in the local paper for even as low as $500. So, it all depends on what you can find. On a scale of 1-10 for expensiveness I would say it's about a 5. Regardless, what ever you pay it's worth it to visit CancÃºn atleast once. It's a great and beautiful place.

I have been there a couple of times. It is about as inexpensive as you can get. They are trying to change thier image from the spring break party spot to a more high end vacation destination but there are still good deals to be had through Apple or Fun Jet vacaions. The beaches are pretty good, the water is warm, vacation packages are pretty cheap and you can go out without spending too much money.

Go with a cruise, it's the safest way to go, and yes it's very cheap. Buy as little as possible on the ship, and your money will go a long way in port.

In the Hotel Zone area of Cancun it is much the same as anywhere else in the US, probably even a little more expensive in some cases. Outside of the tourist areas the prices drop dramatically.

I've never been to Cancun, but I was lucky enough to spend a year in Mexico on an exchange. Look into Cuernavaca, Mexico... the City of Eternal Spring. It's so beautiful, I fell in love with it. Do you know Spanish? Cuernavaca is also famous for Spanish immersion schools... and it has the best climate in the world.

Go On a cruise! I went to Cozumel Mexico.. it wasn't anything special. Jamaica was a lot nicer.
