I live here and dont no 1 single person that drinks the municipal water. Its all bottled. I buy 5 gallon water containers for 20 pesos at my neighborhood store

Charlie
No. You cannot become immune to amoebas, or other parasites. You cannot become immune to lead poisoning. Many pipes in Mexico are very old and corroded, many contain lead. As Mike said...NOBODY in Mexico drinks tap water (unless they have a purifier installed on it)...EVERYONE drinks bottled water.

rhino72032
Everybody drinks bottled water. Don't drink the water from the tap. Drink the bottled water, brush you teeth with bottled water and don't open you mouth in the shower.

WTF?

It's only 6 months, don't drink the water.
Ole, Tequila.

Aphrodite
rely on bottled water

unfortunately, when I go down there to visit my family they are dirt poor. So what we do is just drink it right out of a special well and hope to God we don't get sick.

sarabiaflor
Just drink bottled water, don´t eat in markets or in the street, and most of all... Don't worry too much!

Vaggaloor
I'm mexican; living and answering from México.
We do drink only bottled water! Do the same.
Although in some nice new residential or touristic areas we can drink tap watre with no problem at all, we are used to buy bottled water to drink. Charlie explains you well enough the reasons to do this.

Hearty
Drink botled water or the purified water that comes in the large containers to your motel room.

KJ
You can't the water is undrinkable to any one.

As everyone has said, drink bottled water like everyone else does. And if your are thinking about moving here, get a copy of "Head for Mexico" by Don Adams, and "People's Guide to Mexico" by Carl Franz.
