Your friend can blame herself for offering whomever she owes her cellphone contact number, which got passed along to the collection agency. She can contact her cellphone provider and maybe get the number blocked.
However, she might want to either settle the debt(s) or get some FREE help by signing with a credit counseling service, who may be able to lower the interest, take the collection agency heat off and help get the debt(s) fully paid in half the time. |

Send a cease & desist letter via fax & certified mail to the stated phone number. Keep copies of all correspondence...if they continue to call after the certified mail is received then they could be sued for violation of FDCPA. ((This pertains to personal debt)) |

actually i tried to call the phone to company to see if they could block a number but they told me they couldn't, but maybe it was just my company. I would just not answer any numbers you don't recognize or change the number and tell her not to write her cell number on thing she really would want people like that trying to track her down on... i just hang up on them, or pretend its not me =) |
