First of all, you must know that ,there are no rules of the road. You drive at your own risk. On the highways, you need to go around 75 to100 mph or you could be pushed of the road. When you reach a stop sign you don't come to a complete stop. All you do is roll the stop . And, they don't believe in Pedestrians right of way either . So, have fun be safe and break all the rules of the road and u should be OKAY. |

lock your doors!!!!!! and keep your windows rolled up!
i give you props for driving to mexico. I'd be scared and i'd never drive there.
i'm better off going in a plane.
i'm afraid of being held hostage or something by some mexican guys.
i've seen it happen on America's Most WAnted...that is some scary stuff.
don't drive at night. i say this because while your driving on the road at dark, men might jump out of the bushes and onto the road, which will cause to you stop and slam the breaks on your car, and the men will force their way into your car and take you hostage or kill you.
please be very very careful when driving there.
driving in mexico is some scary stuff. their driving is nothing like in the states!
they drive like there's no rules. knowone obeys the traffic signals or anything.
with the blink of an eye, there'll already be some strange car that made their way in front of you.
don't be alarmed if your driving slow and the other drivers start yelling at you.
when i'm in mexico, i always take a taxi or let my uncle drive me around.
i wouldn't dare drive there.
plzz remember that driving in mexico is COMPLETELY different from in the states. |

I think there is required tipping to cops in smaller districts. Kinda like slip me a twenty or I will mess with you.
Anyway Mexico City seems to be crime capital also Chiuaua(sp?) are really bad. My last research had lots of beware of inproper taxis and the metro train/bus systems. I would not be sure to put more emphasis on Mexico city than a US city area that is high crime. I am unaware if they are more violent. I think you are more likely to get robbed. |

Don't be stupid, don't drive alone, don't drive at nite, don't pick up hitchhikers, keep your doors locked, if you are alone, make sure you are stopping in populated areas.. Know your route, have a cell phone, make sure you have the insurance Mexico requires. Just be smart, and alert like you would be driving in the US and remember it's another Country know and obey its laws. |

First of all I think it is just as dangerous as in any big city, New York, Rome, Paris, Spanin, etc. It is not that bad, you just need to be careful as in you country, Don´t drive in dark and lonely places, try not to travel alone in your car, use your COMMON SENSE and be alert of any possible problem. Don´t open your windows and don´t stop in a dark street. |

Never drive on rural areas. And just use pay roads (autopistas). Use the same precautions as in the US. |

Only drive in tourista areas and big cities. Of course, there you can usually do public transportation. I've lived in Mexico and never owned a car. You can take busses or "rent" a car and Mexican driver very cheaply. That offers some degree of security. |

Move out of Mexico! Go to a safer country like USA! Good Luck! Mexico can be beautiful but it has a lot of crime and corruption! |

Coming from Mexico, and a very violent area of it (Cd. Juarez, Chihuahua) I recommend you drive the same way you would drive in the U.S. It's not like people say it is where everyone is just itching to kill you around every corner. People get killed over dumb thiings, like being arrogant somewhere. Then you get followed and gunned down. Other times, if you have too nice of a car and you obviously don't belong at that respective side of town, you wont necessarily die, but you will more than likely be walking. And it's the same way in many cities in the U.S.
If you mean how to not get killed because of the crazy driving, then just be very, very cautious. If you ride motorcycles or know anyone who does, then you probably already know that we pay attention to traffic a lot more than people in cars. That's how you need to drive. Traffic is pretty bad over there, but it's not as bad as France or Korea. Hope that helped. |
