The younger you are the easier... My family moved to Mexico when I was 10, in 2 months I was speaking the language, and in 4 months I was fluent... I finished secundaria (high school) in the upper half of my class.
Don't be afraid of speaking to people, even though you aren't yet fluent in the language...The more you practice, the better you'll learn, and the sooner you will be fluent!
And take advantage of the country, it is a magnificent place to visit, the people are hospitable everywhere, and there are many wonderful places to see. Try and get to know the peple around you...you will learn the language at the same time you learn to love the people there!

Buena suerte!!!

depends on how badly you want to eat what you want. It really depends on your ability to catch on.. I guess a couple of months before you really can understand most of what they talk about.
A couple of days to understand the basics.
Just remember that cojer is NOT the best verb in polite mexican conversation.. haha

probably at least 3 to 4 months. work at home as well and try to be around mexicans speaking mexican as much as possible. Make a deal with a mexican and trade learning eachother's languages. Have fun and soak up the language and culture.

If you are good in languages you will know Spanish very soon. Especially when you will have 4 hours a day the lessons. And best of all than is also after the lessons(at home) try to look television in Spanish. The practical way of learning a language is most important. Of course you need the grammar and a lot of basic. That's how i learned Spanish.

Good luck

It depends on your capability but if you attend school for 4 hours and practice it outside of class, you'll learn in no time.

Depends on your Spanish background, if you will be totally imersing into the language besides in class and if you will practice A LOT! But it not take that long.

You will speak basic spanish in no time, especially because most mexicans are usually willing to talk with you and very patient. Fluent spanish might take a bit longer, maybe a semester at least, we have lots of rules and verbs that are not very easy to learn and are much more complicated than english, but you have a great advantage cause you will be imersed in our culture and will hear the language all the time, especially if you go to Guadalajara and not some touristic place where everyone would try to speak english with you... good luck!!!

Immersion is the fastest way. Necessity being the mother of invention. Don't worry, you will be fine, just remember, body language is just about the same everywhere.
