How much Beer (not liquor or wine) are you allowed to take into Mexico? ?

Mikey is a beer fanatic! Sam Adams is my favorite. New Castle , Sierra Nevada , Smithwicks - you with me here ?
Beer in a can is not worth it, plus NO micro brew comes in that package anyway. So your thinking of putting bottles thru on you luggage - Not a good idea. Trust me your luggage WILL get opened up. No doubt about it. I put wire ties on my zippers every trip and have never NOT had them cut when I get them. Customs opens them before you get them in Mexico. Every time !
It will not work. I thought about it and came to that conclusion.
This is all under the guess that you are flying in. Driving - different story. Go for it ! It's not like the customs guys are going to lock you up over BEER. They drink it too.
Now with all that said - one beer drinker to another - Try Bohemia - pretty darn good ! Seriously ! Another hint for you - when you buy beer at OXXO conv. stores - ice is free ! Help yourself to the beer cooler display at the front of the store ! Mikey's little secret.
I was home during Xmas and tried the new Michelob - Porter and Pale Ales - pretty darn good considering it's Michelob - I was impressed.
If you do come down - bring me some Sam Adams !
Well got to get to OXXO and get my Bohemia , as I'm heading to the beach today..............

Like some others have said, I think you should try some of the other Mexican Beers and not bring any of your own. Yes Corona, and Sol, Carta Blanca etc are crap but Mexico does have some Premium beers. You must remember that both the major breweries in Mexico brough in Austrian immigrants as brewmasters, and Bohemia made by the same brewery that makes Carta Blanca is a German Munic Lager very similair to Lowenbrau but superior in many ways. They have also just started making Bohemia Obscura (Dark) which is like an Octoberfest beer and if you get down here quickly you might even find a case of their version of a Christmas Beer (Noche Buena) All these beers are well worth trying although if you really want a micro brew taste Mexico actually does have a brewery producing micro brews although its difficult to find its called Minerva that makes a Wheat beer, Stout and Octoberfest that you should be able to find in any Wallmart in Mexico.
So in short, there really is no reason to bring your own! All Mexico beer is not crap skunky beer, although alot of it is. Have a safe and fun trip down here!

Mexican beer is worldÂ´s best along with German beer, so donÂ´t take American beer because you can find and buy it anyway down there. Enjoy Mexican beer specially dark Negra Modelo and super alcoholic Bohemia.

"There beer is crap" do you mean "their"? anyway, in what hole have you been vacationing? do you know in most resorts they sell many kinds of beer? from many different countries?
Bring 50 lt, that way you won't pass customs and can happily go back to drink your fantastic beer wherever you are.

you can bring as much as you want but if the customs tell you something about it just say its for a party and give them a little tip or something and not all the beer is crap well there's one called SOL and that beer SUCKS!
