Hola. For Cabo San Lucas, please read BlueCabo's response. Better yet, take him up on his offer. I know the resort he is talking about and it is really worth seeing and going to the presentation. |

They have different prices, depending on the resort, time of the year, and size of units, they cost from $3,000 to $50,000 USD. Then you have to pay maintenance every year, from $200 to $3,000 USD, also depending in your purchase.
Time shares are made to help you with your vacations expenses, they are an investment, and need to understand, to take advantage of it.
If you are interested in buying one, I will recommend you to go to a time share presentation first and get your questions answered before making a decision.
If you want to go to Aruba, Cabo San Lucas or the Bahamas, first locate the time share resort you are interested on going. Some times they have specials to stay there in exchange to attend their presentation.
For example, I can offer you, 4 days and 3 nights at Fiestamericana Grand Los Cabos for only $200 USD*.
Some restrictions apply.
If you just want to rent a week, there are many sites that do that, I will recommend you Time Share Users Group, since you deal with real owners.
They also have a forum where you can learn some about time shares. |

Timeshares can be very expensive. If you buy directly from the resort, they will be expensive upfront, but the maintenance fees (the annual upkeep and usage fee), will probably be lower. The resort probably has the size of unit, location in the resort, and time of year you'll be interested in. If you buy resale, the upfront fee charge will be much lower, about 10-50% of the original price, but the maintenance fees will probably have gone up from the original developer fees. You also may have to wait for the right location and week to become available. You'll find some that sell for only $1, and there's probably a reason for that price. They can be difficult to resell if you find you're no longer interested in keeping your week.
We own several timeshares, and use most of them yearly. We also trade to other resorts on occasion, but trades are getting more difficult to get when and where you want to go. I don't recommend buying a timeshare specifically to trade or rent, unless you really know what you're doing. There are a few sites that have quite a few timeshares for sale or rent. Check out redweek.com, myresortnetwork, vacationtimesharerentals, bidshares or any other number of timeshare sales/rentals websites. You'll be able to find a good estimate of rental prices and resale prices. If you rent one to begin with, you can see if it's something you want to purchase. |

time shares are very expensive, you can buy your timeshare by weeks, (52 weeks) high seasons are more expensive, what a lot of people do is to by a low season maybe a rainy or huracane season but they exchange their week for a good one, you can do it directly with the hotel or with Interval International, they charge you $150 for doing this, you can also exchange your week for any hotel around the world. |

stay away from timeshares, esp ones organised for you by companies, theyre the biggest money taking scams everywhere, believe me, i worked 4 years in a major timeshare company, and its just a scam!!! |

I bet those answers did not help much did they?
Here is the deal, right to the point of your question:
If you buy trough the developer:
Anywhere form $5000 USD to $50,000USD and up.
If you get it in the resale market (exactly same timeshare):
Less than $1000 for ANY TIMESHARE.
To RENT a timeshare to any of those places should be around $800 depending on the quality of the resort, the size of the unit and the season. |
