How much cash to bring to a destination in Mexico for 1 week...?
I don't know how much cash I should bring along for a trip to Mexico... any ideas? We have not planned yet and don't know where we are going, but just wanted input for different areas. Thanks!
Either use ATMs in Mexico or have traveler's checks.
How much you'll spend per day depends on a number of factors.
What quality of hotel are you going to stay in?
Are you going to one spot, or are you planning an itinerary to a few locations? If so, you'll need money for transportation.
What type of activities will you be involved in?
The location(s) you pick will affect the price.
I spend about $50 a day while in a town, but your choices will probably be different than mine. My main activity is to explore towns on foot.
I suggest you get a guidebook to help you plan. I good choice for a book with lots of info is the newly revised Lonely Planet.

well kelly depends on how much your planning to spend and go visit in mexico?
tess
hmm....it depends but i went to ireland with $200 and after i traded it in and everything it lasted fine. but i was also with a tour group so most of it was already paid for. so im not entirely sure.
Hearty
Well you can book an all-inclusive which means that you eat hotel food and drinks every day so you can get wasted and just lie on the beach and get sun tanned or (burned)!.
If you were going to Cancun or Cabos San Lucas be prepared to spend muchos pesos if you eat and drink out. You pay American prices!
We take our debit card and obtain cash in pesos from the automated tellers at national banks. I wouldn't take more than $200 US cash - some small bills included for tips. If that runs out you can use your debit card. Don't use your charge cards in Mexico.
