Depends..there are public hospitals for the extremely poor...they may charge a few hundred dollars, but if the family cannot pay, they do not. There are hospitals for medium income people with the National Health Insurance... price here is less than $100.00 a day..so a few hundred for delivery. Then there are private hospitals for wealthier people...they may charge up to $1000.00 .You would need to ask in the community where you will be living. Even foreign residents may purchase the National Health Ins. if they have an FM3 visa...around $200.00 a year for young adults, covers everything except preexisting conditions in the 1st year. Would need to ask about pregnancy coverage. If you are an American citizen, and give birth in mexico, you MUST register the birth at the nearest American embassy or consulate to protect the child's American citizeship, get an American birth certificate and American passport. The child will have dual citizenship. This is super important to do. Also , a Mexican birth certificate is very important and very difficult to replace if lost...so hang onto it for your child. The child can also have a Mexican Passport.

i saw a sign in a upper poor area of Tijuana that said, "partos $1200" which is about USD $120. i dont know what that includes, but thats cheap.
I have friends who even with insurance go to tijuana to have dental work done for less than their deductables.

it varies by stateand the type of service you seek , for example in my home state of Zacatecas for most people not covered under a seguro popular thats health insurance available to most lower income families the cost is a donation of goods such as dipers, blood etc: if they uninsured used the same hospital the cost is around 120dls. If a person has workers insurance thru IMSS mexican Social Security Institute there's he's completely covered. or you can see out a private hospital for around 1000 dollars

depends, if you are a legal mexican resident and you are poor government helps you and it will be no more than 200 usdlls even if it is a c-section , if going to a private hospital for middle class around 1500 us dlls, a nice high class hospital no more than 4000 us dlls.
