WELL I SUGGEST CANCUN IF YOU WANT TO HAVE FUN AND SEE THE MOST BEAUTIFUL TURQUOISE WATERS IN THE CARIBBEAN. THE COST.....WELL YOU WOULD NEED TO PROVIDE MORE INFORMATION. DEPARTURE CITY FOR THE AIRLINES IS A BIG ISSUE. I CAN TELL YOU THAT YOU WILL SPEND ANYWHERE FROM 850-1200 PER PERSON FOR AN ALL INCLUSIVE PACKAGE WITH AIR AT A NICE HOTEL. BEST PRICE. SPENDING MONEY....DEPENDS ON WHAT YOU WANT TO DO WHILE YOU ARE HERE. THE CLUBS RUN 40-50 PER NIGHT FOR OPEN BAR. THERE ARE OTHER OPTIONS THAT MIGHT BE A BIT CHEAPER. I WOULD PLAN ON 100.00 PER DAY MINIMUM EVEN WITH ALL INCLUSIVE IF YOU PLAN ON DOING ANYTHING. IF YOU PLAN ON HANGING OUT AT THE RESORT A LOT....YOU COULD GET BY WITH LESS. I would suggest you go to Playa del Carmen, 45 min south of Cancun. Lots to do and lots of variety. More local culture than Cancun.

Ballpark figure... at least $500 each for airfare. Decent hotels can be found anywhere from $50-$250/night. I've had friends who found private luxury 2 BR condos for $100/night during off-season. Depending on how much you want to eat and drink and how willing you are to leave the more touristy areas to do so, you can easily get by on $100 day for food and alcohol. I strongly suggest that you check out www.playa.info for information, including the ability to book just about any kind of accomodation you can imagine.

I am going to Cozumel which is a little island off of the coast of the yuctan and about 45 minutes south of cancun. They have a party scene but not nearly as prominate as cancuns. I am staying at an all-inclusive and I believe that is the best way to go. With the all-inclusive you don't have to worry about drinks or food but you still have the option to eat out if you want. There is also snorkling with free equipment rental right at the hotel.I would book the flight and hotel together for the best price and it is cheaper to do things on your own rather than go through a tour group. Ex. It can cost anywhere from $60-$140 to go on a trip to the ruins but by doing a little research I found that I can do a trip on my own for about $30. And my flight and hotel cost @ $950 pp for 6 days five nights. Just depends on the time you book your trip prior to you leaving. I hope this helps but you just need to shop around. I used travelocity and have had no problems and found a good price.

well..my husband and i will be spending 8 days in cozumel at an all inclusive..with rental car, our total price was about 4500 thats airfare, jeep, hotel..for 7 nites and 8 days...hope that helps.

The Posada Luna del Sur in Tulum is a great deal at $64 a night. Click the link below to read other traveller reviews of the hotel. The down side is that there are only 12 rooms a lots of people that want to stay there. Tulum is two hours south of Cancun, so it's not as expensive as Cancun.

Don't forget Acapulco. Best time for all of Mexico is Oct thru May.
Check Orbitz for airfare. I think the Best Western here is like $150 a night for 2 and is on the beach. I know of plenty rooms that will suffice with a pool, across the street from the beach @ $50 a night. You'll only be sleeping there so who cares about the luxuries :)
Plan on about $100 dollars a day for 2 people and have stupid fun. Keep in mind I'm a local and know all the secrets so I can do it for far less :):)

Honest opinion is Cancun is gringoville - why travel internationally to be surrounded by gingos. Does not make sense to me. We have out tourists - mostly older Canadians but no where near like Gringoville.

I stayed at Iberostar Parisio Maya/Lindo 2 times and I love it!!
It would be soo perfect for you and your bf!!!!!!
I went w/ my family(4 ppl) and we had a blast!!!!
It was around 6 thousand for all 4 of us for a week but it's all inclusive and totally worth it!!!!!
