right now 15 pesos = 1 us dollar, so you should have spent about 2 us dollars, you got ripped!

Currency conversion is all fine and good, but for the most part Mexican vendors trade 1 USD for about 10 Pesos. Makes for easy math for them and they make some money on the conversion.

I wouldn't recommend throwing the chips in that guy's face. He probably deals with a lot worse problems then you do when your ipod doesn't work and you're late for the bus and you can't decide what flavor smoothie to pick.

Deal with losing $3.60 and move on. The people of Mexico have much worse troubles then you do dear.

You should've paid about $2 for that bag of chips. I live in Mexico and the average exchange rate is about 15.00, in some places higher and in some lower. That's about an average. For one dollar you would get about 15 pesos, give or take, depending on rate.

It can change due to inflation... (may not be accurate)

1 American dollar equals 10 Mexican pesos. So say something is 5.00 here it would be 50.00 in Mexico. At leas that was what it was last time i visited (this summer)

its about 20 pesos per dollar, so 3.60 should get you about 70 pesos. So, yea, you got ripped!
