Once you get to Mexico currency conversion doesn't mean a whole lot. If you're buying Pesos here then it does, but most of the vendors in Mexico use a flat rate.

You'll get around 10 pesos for a USD.

The actual exchange rate is close to 15, but you'll never actually get that. Just got back from Cabo and most places were using 13:1 to 14:1 for their rates. Anything in that range is pretty acceptable, I wouldn't get bent out of shape for anything 13:1 or better. So by that definition, 100 pesos=roughly 7.5 dollars (100/13.5). You always want to ask up front, don't wait until you get the bill to discuss it!

It was 10:1 only a year ago, so the dollar has definitely gotten stronger. The downside is most of the tourist locales have simply raised their US prices to keep pace

$1.00= 15.40 pesos

about 10 pesos maybe a little less. like 9.5 but they love american money down there. just make sure you are paying a reasonable price.
