safer than most...they inspect their equipment daily and soak them in cleanser or anti-septic between uses. |

It's fine. They are generally cleaned between uses in a water/cleaner mixture. |

Just buy a new tube and mouth piece. They are like 5 bucks and you get to keep them. |

I went snorkeling when i was like 8 and it was fun!!! But being the GERM FREAK that i am now i would NOT use rented snorkeling equipment!!!! You have fun and if you go go snorkeling take baby wipes or something and clean off the mouth piece YOURSELF!!!! They clean it but just so you know it is clean and you feel safer |

Bring your own from home. Most of the masks you rent, don't fit your face or they leak. They are suppose to sanitize before renting but I wouldn't take the chance.
We purchased ours at a dive shop. But I know some people that have been lucky with buying theirs at Walmart. Try the mask on,inhale and if the mask clings to your face, it's a good fit. Nothing worst than a leaky mask.

i couldn't imagine some one who rents those things out to spend some of their time cleaning them properly.

Safeness...
Go with a "popular" company.
Sanitary... The suit is pretty sanitary. Just wash the goggles and stuff you put in your mouth..
If i were you I would rent everything except goggles and the stuff you put in ur mouth. |

Its gross and unsanitary. Avoid it if you can.
Rentals can be broken or the wrong size or full of bacteria and sweat. Always wear socks with rental shoes and wash your hands or shower after use. |

You'd have to ask the rental company how they sanitize the gear. Personally, I think I'd use my own.
