It is dangerous anywhere you go. Yes Mexico is experiencing much organized crime such as kidnappings and fights among the cartels. But if you really want to go just don't bring much attention to yourself. Don't wear excessive jewlery or show money around. Just be your normal self and dont bring attention to yourself and you will be fine. Most kidnappings occur because the people who commit the crime follow you for an extended period and know what you do on a daily basis.

Oh for heaven's sake people. I live here and it is perfectly safe. You are in more danger of being run over by crazy drivers than being kidnapped or shot. As long as you are not dealing drugs you'll be fine.

good god. i live in guadalajara and it is NOT superpolluted (way less than like LA), it may be crowded depending on when semana santa is but it is not that dangerous either. why do people think mexico is such a stereotype!

not very where is safe. but there is kidnapping every singing day. just be careful. cause when i went to guadalajara there was smog and it was really bad! polluted a lot !
