It is hurricane season in the Caribbean (June 1 to Nov30)

According to wunderground.com the historical weather in the last 10 years plus for Cancun was warm temps in the 80's, lows average 75 degrees. Days with rain15% to
20 %. Hurricane Wilma(Cat 4) stalled over Cancun in October 2005. But I think that was not the norm. Just something to think about.

Los Cabos historically over the past 10 years plus has been very hot and dry. Temps in the 90's. Lows in the 70's.
Chance of rain 2 or 3 %.

Cancun is very lively and Americanized. The beaches and water are beautiful.

San Jose del Cabo is more subdued and Cabo San Lucas has the restaurants clubs and a very energetic nightlife. The beaches are beautiful but the water in some areas are not swimmable. (check that out before booking) But the cliff top vistas and lavish hotels are beautiful.

Happy travels wherever you decide to go. Congrats on winning such a nice prize. Enjoy)

Cancun is always Hot, October is close to the end of rain season, but temperature will be around ¨late 80´s low 90´s

In Cabo since is more to the north therefore will be cooler than Cancun, expect 80´s probably 70´s at night.

and Cancun rarely hit 100 even on summertime, but is very humid so it feel hotter than hot.

I went to Cabo last October and the weather was amazing. It was sunny and mid-80s every day and in the mid-60s at night. I would def. recommend Cabo!

Cancun is pretty much the same climate year round--mid to upper 80's with high humidity--but you'll have to consider the hurricane season. I went a couple of years ago in October and the next week Wilma hit, so it's just like playing dodge ball with the weather when you're staying anywhere near the gulf. You might be better off going to Cabo.

Cabo might be the better choice, but I am not really sure when they get storms, probably the same time. What you need to consider also is if you want to have a real beach and sea vacation. I am not going to debate because it is really personal preference but most people tend to agree that Cancun has the better beaches. It is also located on the Caribbean, which is one of the most beautiful and warmer oceans in the world. I have heard that the water around Cabo can be quite chilly, so you should check on that as well.

I think for me, the best part about Cancun aside from the fantastic beaches, is the hundreds of restaurants, clubs, bars and entertainment options at your disposal. I think whichever location you choose, you should pick up a travel guidebook so you have an idea of what is offered.

Have fun choosing,
