Your game boy, Ipod.
Lock them in the safe deposit box when not in use or your locked luggage. Most places are safe and they will not get taken if you are in a big resort.
Take sunscreen, 2 shirts to every bottom, to save room. flip flops, walking shoes are just about all you will need. A sweater for at night should it get chilly.
Its drives me crazy that young girls wear their makeup. Common you are on vacation. You are NOT there to find boys, other than to hang out with. let your natural "tanned" beauty show through.
Go, have fun, and remember you are on vacation. You will never see these people again!

Hello Michellee
You should take some suntan lotion and Aloe just in case you become burned. Also Dont walk around at night by yourself. Take your ipod, psp, and other teen things to keep you occupied.
Drink plenty of water and always know your surrounding. Ok. Dont let these other people scare you here. Some of the responses are ridiculous. Best thing is have fun and drink lots of bottled water.

Lots of SMALL bills, (singles) so you can bargain when you buy things. If it's not food, or a retail store, you can get away with offering them half what it's marked.
Don't try speaking spanish if you do not speak spanish. You're probably going to an area with a lot of tourism, trust me, they all speak english. Bring a small phrasebook so you can understand signs and menu items.
Don't bring anything that you will miss if it is broken or missing. Don't bring your 300$ digital camera. Get a bunch of disposable ones. Don't bring your favorite jewelry.
Hand sanitizer.
Warm clothing to sleep in, it's desert weather down there and it gets very cold at night.
And , your common sense.

BOTTLED WATER!! The water in Mexico is filthy, bottled or otherwise. So bring your own!
A mister is always nice, because it's unbearably hot.
16, huh? Don't forget your cell phone! ;)
And finally a strong wit, to outsmart all of the kids/adults trying to sell you stuff on the street to make money for their families. (trust me I've been) |
