It depend where you go if it will be very hot. When I was driving to Mexico City we stopped about 300 miles north, and I wanted to eat, and the weather was AMAZING, it was about 70 60 degrees. And when we got to Mexico City, it was a little cold 40- 50 degrees and it was raining almost everyday.
One other thing, there will be poor people (especially kids) who will try to sell you things, or just plain ask you for money. Being the good person i am, i gave them any change i had. But I don't know how you would react to that. Just know what you are doing. Oh, and people will look at you. I am Mexican American, born in the US, and people were looking at me a lot, because it was obvious I was not from there, especially in the smaller villages.
ENJOY!! |

Bring a Spanish/English dictionary, depending on where you are going to stay, it could be very hot or in the tropics, the rainy season. Mexican people are friendly and helpful...of note, the US is the largest consumer of bottled water, Mexico is second. Not to worry. If your normal diet is bland, be careful of spicy food. |

So much depends upon where in Mexico you will be visiting as to what you should expect. It will be hot, much of Mexico will be having daily rain at that time of year, humid!!!! Common sense things no matter where you are, drink bottled water, if your in a large city chances are pretty good that most of the restaurants will prepare food in a manner that should be safe for you to eat. Pick up a Spanish phrase book and look it over, your stay will be enhanced by knowing a few words. Most of the Mexican nationals know English in the larger towns so it shouldn't be a problem. Have fun, be safe.

OK, don't listen to the jerk that says that it's very poor, very dirty and very hot. You can find that in the U.S. so that guy can just shove it and stop being a baby.
I've been to Mexico tons of times, so here is something I've learned, if you don't speak Spanish, stay close to the people you are traveling with that do speak Spanish. It will be hot during this time. It's summer! Hello! It's hot everywhere right now. I just got back from Mexico so I know what I'm talking about. The thing that gets me when it comes to the heat is the humidity. I live in a place that is hot, but dry so that kind of bothers me.
1 American dollar = 10 Mexican pesos
they use the metric system
they use Celsius not Fahrenheit.
don't drink the water.
What irritates me about people who complain about Mexico being dirty and poor is that they don't go with an open mind. Just go and have a good time. You can get sick anywhere you go. and with the whole, 'dirty' comment, you know what? I've heard lots of people say the same things about places like Los Angeles or New York. keep an open mind, enjoy it, it's beautiful, and if something doesn't look appetizing to you, just don't eat it. plain and simple. |

it depends what parts you are going to but u will see global warming hasn't really affected that place.
i would bring clothes to keep cool but at night it will get chilly so bring warm clothing too but don't dress as u would if it were snowing.
many people there are very faithful to their religions. (the older people especially)
everything is cheaper over there.
remember this especially!!
american money X 10 = mexican money.
what that means is if u have $5 it will be 50 pesos. (pesos is the name of the money)
so 20 dollars will be 200 pesos.
oh and they use the metric system.
it's not pounds to them it's kilograms and what not!! |

Just make sure you're emotionally prepared!
It is VERY poor, VERY dirty, and VERY hot.
Be careful it's a big shock.
P.s. Don't eat at any restaurants unless you know FOR SURE that the food is clean etc,... Because when I went I ate at some food there thinking it would be fine, but I got sick 'cause the guy making it didn't wash his hands and it was VERY unsanitery. So, be careful what you eat... |
