If you want to use your verizon phone in Mexico....you must call Verizon and have them add international service to your plan. All you do is call and request it. You will then have phone service in Mexico at .70 per minute. You will have phone service only....no text messaging. It is that simple!!! I use mine all the time. |

Simple answers first:
Yes, you can use your Verizon phone in Mexico. Yes it will cost you more, but only if you make or receive a call, while in Mexico.
More detailed answers:
Call Verizon wireless @ the 611 number from you cell phone, before you leave, and tell them that you want to be able to make and receive calls in Mexico.
This service will not cost you anything extra, Verizon Wireless has contracts with Mexican cell phone service providers.
However, if you make or receive a call. Be prepared to pay out an arm, leg, and your first born child. It is very EXPENSIVE to make or receive calls down there. |

Verizon will not work when you leave the U.S. Verizon's technology is different from most of the rest of the world, so it won't work on any other network. If you want to use a phone in Mexico, you'll have to get a phone on another network. |

Verizon will not work in Mexico. They are on a different system.
At some Verizon stores in Texas, you are able to rent a phone that will work in Mexico. I'm not sure of the cost, or where any may be available. |

we dont have verizon here but you can buy a cellphone for 400pesos aprox (like36usd) or i think for much less with air time |

Verizon will work, they run on CDMA standard, most cell phone companies in Mexico run that standard, like Iusacell and Telcel (the last one also runs on GSM) |
