We have three kinds of ethnic groups in mexico and everybody has some mixture of those. White, Indigenous (as your native-americans) and black. There is no asian blood in significant proportions anywhere. We Mexicans don't come from Asia. We are just combinations of those three above mostly in these ethnic mix: white: 30 %, indigenous 60 %, blacks 10%. Most mexicans have these features. Give or take another 1 percent of asian and arabic race in very rare cases.

The thing is Indigenous people have asiatic resemblances, because 20,000 years ago, the opriginal native-americans came from somewhere between china and mongolia through the bering strait (between alaska and russia) and populated the continent. Then, arriving in this continent they turned into sioux, cherokee, aztec, maya, inca, guiros, caribs etc. So, today people who have more indigenous proportions say 75 % to 100 % still resemble those asians. Thats the issue with straight hair, short stature, and almond eyes. It happens in Mexico City, and the neighboring states, where aztecs and toltecs (we call them "nahuas") are still present in large numbers.

But, if you go to the state of Tabasco, or Veracruz, there you'll find a lot of ne.gr.oid people, because in times of slavery, africans were sent to the sugar and tobacco plantations there. The proportion of black blood in those states is about 30 to 45% and you'll be able to notice curly hair, broader noses and lips.

In states like Aguascalientes, Sonora and the central parts of Chihuahua, the indigenous blood comes down to almost 10 or 20 %, because most indians were eliminated there by spanish empire (1500 - 1800 ad), so the native blood is really very recent because of the natural demographic movements of this past 30 years. There, you'll find a lot of people who have blue eyes, white skin (a little burned by sun), and are generally taller.

The Native Americans (north, central and south) were said to have came to America on the Bering Straight ( a land bridge) from Asia.

through the times mexico have received important waves of migration influx. That's why mexico is a melting pot of cultures.... we are neither Aztecs Nor Spaniards, we actually are both and none... hahaha ....

THE SAME applies to the United kingdom, after the last ice age the hostile lands of what is now known as UK were repopulated by people from northern spain ... but that's another story...

I agree with you.Becuse they are part of the Mongloid race.When the Spaniards sailed from Mexico looking for a Spice route & reached the Philipines,they thougt they reached Another part of Mexico,cause the The Filipino natives looked so much like Mexico natives. Mexicans are a mixed group & are not the same race.Mexico is multi racial counrty like Canada,Malayasia, or South Africa.

My fiance is Mexican and we live in Mexico- he is told that frequently as well. He often gets asked if he is part Thai and looks like the guy that played the mummy in The Mummy- ha! He hates it when I say that.

Anyway, a lot of people in this region get these characteristics from their Aztec and Mayan ancestors. If you google the Huichol Indian Tours in Mexico, you will find some interesting information regarding the Indian ancestry of Mexico.

.What part of Mexico are you in? Many are "Indian" with strong Asian characteristics.
If say You were In Aguascalientes Mexico, there is a large asian population because of the big Toyota Plant outside of town. Serious! been there, and was like what the heck that guys asian?

actually many native american and latin american cultures can be traced to asia. alaska and and current day russia used to be connected by a sheet of ice and many asians migrated across it and settled in southern more warmer climates i.e mexico and central and south america. as for the black, there are some afro-mexicans but not to many. i am mexican myslef and like to know a lot of the history. oh and i am a mexican that looks white like u said. lol
