It is probably about 80% back to normal. You can still tell that damage has been done, as there is alot of construction and the beaches look torn up in certain areas. Almost all the major hotels are running perfectly normal, a few beach bars may not be operating.

All in all it will probably be fine for you. Prices are significanlty lower now then they were a year ago, as the area tries to get tourists back.

Things are back to near normal in Cancun but the beaches did not come out so good. The beaches were actually improved in the Riviera Maya just south of Cancun. Go to Playa del Carmen or Puerto Aventuras. Better vibe there than in Cancun. And yes, December is a great time to go.

I am not sure where it is all back to normal or not but I did go there last year in May. You should definalty do the all tours of the bars. It is $25 you start at the Satified Frog then they bus you to another bar and this goes on all night. It is the best way to see all the hot spots, get drunk and only spend $ 25. Have Fun !!

Almost everything is back to normal. Some construction is going on but it shouldn't ruin your vacation. It's truly amazing how hard the Mexicans worked to get Cancun back together. Any month is great in Cancun. The water will be warm and air temp in the lown 80's without humidity.

Have a wonderful time. I was there 2x this year and can't get enough of Cancun!!
