First, I want to make a comment to that first guy, who obviously has no personal experience, but enjoys giving advice based solely on what he has heard/read someplace.
The advantage to legal prostitution is that STD's are less likely due to government regulation of a legal industry.
In Mexico, prostitution is legal, and the state governments require that all sex workers be tested for STD's and carry a current health card. Health cards are renewed bi-weekly.
Stick with the girls that work IN the bars/clubs. Their employer checks to make sure that they have a current health card. The girls that work on the street are only checked on rare occasion by the police.
Also, the girls in the bars/clubs are generally more professional, and are more likely to show you a good time.
The girls on the streets are more likely to run out the door with your pants. |

Expect to pay the girl $40 to $60 for about 1/2 hour. There will be a cost of about $10-20 for the room. I have been with at least 20 Mexican 'ladies of the night' and have been shown a nice time at least 80% of the times. It helps if you speak Spanish. Get her a drink, relax and chat for a few minutes. Negotiate the price up front. Don't take your whole stash of cash with you. Leave extra cash and CC's in your Hotel. The thing about the health cards is true, but I thought they were checked monthly not bi-weekly?? Also true - do stick with the girls that are working in the bars, not the street walkers. They will steal from you (ie. run out of the room with your wallet, etc.). |

If you prefer Mexican over Asian, then yes. Other than that, about the same. The price depends. I was approached by a whore in tiajuana who offered sex for 50 + 10 for a room. In the Phillipines, they go from 8-25. Indonesia was like 40. singapore was 75 an hour. |
