I lived in Puebla for almost two years. It would be an excellent place for you to raise your son. Since you have researched schools, you know that there are some bilingual schools there including the American School which is mostly in English. Puebla is a beautiful city with unbelievable cultural activites. You would be close to Mexico City and close to the beach in Veracruz. From Puebla you can travel to many interesting places in central Mexico within four or five hours.
If you have the money, give it a try. It would not be a good place for a single mom who has to work. |

Yes. Depending on the circumstances of your 'option' I would absolutely consider it. Puebla is an incredible place (so I've heard) and I firmly believe that the quality of life in Mexico is just as good if not surpasses that of life in the United States, considering you can deliver economically. It's not easy to make good money in Mexico.
If cultural diversity is what really appeals to you and is one of your main reasons for going, however, then you had just as well stay in the states. There is 200% more cultural diversity in the United States than in Mexico. |

I agree with you that the culture in Mexico is more layed back versus the money and material oriented. Maybe it would be good for you to try it for atleast a year and this way you will be able to experience it yourself and then decide. Even when you can put your son in a Public School in Mexico it would be good if you also enroll him in other activities even in some English courses where he can continue his education, specially if you are planning to work outside the home. The South part of Mexico is very beautiful geographically speaking (Chiapas, Quintana Roo, Yucatan, Campeche). It is true there is a alot of poverty (speaking of material) in comparison to the US. The Mayas live around this part and even though there Culture is so rich they still live like their ancestors lived which makes it very interesting to learn from their Culture. If you are bilingual and have an education it is much easier to find a job around the tourist areas like Cancun and Playa del Carmen in Quintana Roo. I think that if you have a desire inside of you to experiment it, why not. Just keep a little money saved incase you want to return sooner... try this experience for about a year and take it from there so you can find out if it is for you.
I hope I was able to help. |

Do you speak Spanish? What is the other option?Going to Jail?It all depends on your circumstances I suppose.Mexico is nice, but what about the boy and school? If you don't stay tooo! long it would be a good learning experience for him.Do you know the country?Who will you live with? How will you support yourself? Is the boy game for the move?Check it all out before you make your decision! |

Is your question supposed to indicate a feeling that Puebla may have a detrimental effect on your son's beauty ? |
