You will need a passport, but probably not much more. I just returned from a five year residence there, and I never applied for anything but a tourist visa. If you do just get the tourist visa, you will have to leave Mexico every six months. ON the other hand, every time you enter or re-enter the country, they automatically issue you a new one. Its that easy to get. Mexico is a wonderful place to live. |

If you want to live in Mexico you need a special visa. The Mexican immigration authorities have a web-page in English with all the information you may need. |

You have to go to the Mexican embassy and say you need a permission to stay in Mexico for six weeks, because you want to learn spanish, and you have a friend who lives there and going to be that time at his home. They will give you a passport with the permission. |

just go to the Mexican consulate and ask for every thing you want to know about that situation and they will explain everything you need. but I recommend that you go to Mexico as a tourist, so you can came back whenever you want. |
