I am going to Cancun on the 10th July 09 is it going to rain?

My friends and I are travelling to Cancun next July. Can you tell me what are the chances of it raining and if anybody has been recently around this time? I have read mixed reviews!! I don't mind the odd shower but I couldn't stand it if it rained for days on end!! Thanks Danielle xx

Thanks for the sarcasm!! lol Obviously I am not looking for an exact answer I was just generally asking for the experiences of other people who have been in July in previous years!

You shouldn't have a problem with it raining. July is a dry time for CancĂșn and also keep in mind CancĂșn is in a tropical climate so it tends to be the same temps year round and same weather. It is sunny and rain free on average about 250 days of the year. The rainy season is in October so you won't have to worry much about rain. There is always a chance of a pop-up shower, because CancĂșn is located on the ocean and that produces high levels of humidity, but it rarely happens. If it does rain it literally is only for a few minutes and most of the time the sun is still out while it rains...known as sun showers. I have been going to CancĂșn for over ten years and I have only seen it rain twice. Once was for five minutes and the other was for about 45 minutes. Once the storm passes it's back to beautiful blue skies. July is a hot, dry, humid month so you won't have any worries. Also, only all day rain in CancĂșn happens when there is a tropical storm/hurricane present and/or the rainy season, but you won't have to worry about any of that.
You will be perfectly fine and you have no worries.
Enjoy your vacation!!!

My parents have been to Cancun several times in July and never complained about rain. I was their in August, 2008, and there was no rain then either. It is hurricane season so anything is possible. The link below shows in July there is an average of 4 days with rain (it does not indicate how much). July is also listed as having the warmest temperates of the year in Cancun.

Yes, it will rain that day from 4:17 pm to 5:26 pm.
That's generally the pattern in the summer, it will heat up in the afternoon and produce a storm that lasts between one and two hours. And then the evening is clear.

i am looking into my crystal ball...

chances are you will have some rain.
you could have afternoon showers, or days of rain with a tropical storm.
don't forget it is hurricane season from june 1 - november 30.

sorry for the sarcasm, just kidding.

On 10 July 2009 it will be as sunny and pleasant as my personality. I GUARANTEE it or will refund every last penny you paid for this prognostication!!!

It rains almost every day that time of year, but usually only for a little while, and the rest of the day is nice. If you are lucky, you may see some really cool thunderstorms.
