I am going to Puerto Vallarta in a few days. I know not to drink the water, but what about coffee?
I am staying at Dreams, an all inclusive hotel. Wouldn't the coffee they serve be made with their water? Should I make my own with bottled water in my room?
Most of the larger resorts (Dreams included) have their own water purification system, in-house. These are tested regularly by outside sources. This is in addition to the annual certification of the entire Puerto Vallarta city water system which continues to exceed specifications and is one of the highest rated municipal systems in Mexico.
Smaller restaurants and other like establishments use bottled water, actually the 5-gallon bottles, delivered, as needed. Same with the ice, typically delivered daily and made with purified water in a controlled environment.

the coffee will bw fine. i been to mexico sveral of times and in fact i always drunk the water and ate ice and never got sick. someone told resorts are out to make money so why would they have tainted water? Most places uses filters and will say it, or have their brand of bottled water.

Some people come to Mexico and purchase bottled water from Canada.
hahahahahahaha

Most folks don't know this but Puerto Vallarta is one of the few cities where their water supply has been Certified by SEAPAL for five consecutive years for its cleanliness. Purified water is standard in all hotels and restaurtants. If still leery, drink bottled water and use it for face washing and brushing your teeth.
Don't wory about the ice cubes.. resorts and restaurants use the purified water to make them.
Since tourism is a major industry for them, they certainly don't want any disease breaking out.

ALL restaurants, hotels, resorts...in fact EVERYONE in Mexico uses bottled water for drinking, cooking, ice. Anyway, exactly how would you "make" bottled water in your room? Would you turn on the tap water and fill bottles? TAP water is exactly what you should NOT use or drink. It is for washing only.
