if driving, buy the insurance as soon as you get across the border. visit ensanada if you have the chance. haggle all prices. look for the grimiest taco stand; they're usually the best! don't drink the water, don't drink straight from the cups, and although they are cute, DO NOT DRINK FROM BOTTLED COKE/SQUIRT. the bottles are reused. they get sent back to the factory, filled, and recapped. get your picture with the zebra-painted-donkey! HAVE FUN, BUT BE SMART! do not flash cash, i always keep mine in my front pockets (some in each, just so i know that if some gets stolen/lost, i know i have more in the other for help).

make sure your insurance covers your car past the border!!!
Mine covered up to Ensenda and that was it, so I purchased some extra..watch out for the very cheap tequila
If you have the chance, go to Ensenada so you can visit Hussongs and Papas And Beer

Avoid "street food", or any place that is not obvoiusly sanitary. Street food vendors usually don't have a place to wash up. Go in a group and get off the street by 9:00 pm or earlier. DON'T GET DRUNK and lose controll, this could lead to major trouble. You really don't want to end up in the Tijuana jail!!!!!
Don't buy anything that is illegal in the us-no switchblades, drugs or fireworks.
The laws on this side can do you serious harm and cost you both in time and money.
I have been there many times over the years and have always had a good time.

Awesome!! Are you driving? The boarders been a pain to get threw lately. Do you have a passport you'll need that to get back into the states. Also if driving...use a rental or the cheapest junk car you own. Cars get stolen alot down there. Sorry don't mean to worry you. I used to lived in Diego for a time and we used to always make a run for the boarder back in college. Oh don't order a drink with ice...sorry no frozen margaritas! I can't tell you how many times I made that mistake

taquitos, but make sure they don't feed you dog. everything is cheaper there than here. dangers? if you got a nice car theres a big chance it will be stolen. watch out for cops too.

Just try to get into the heart of the city, and stay away from the extremely touristy part right near the border.
