Question Everything
ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND! I bet you will be dead within a couple of months if that. Do you realize how corrupt the law enforcment agencies are in Mexico? Drug dealers will Kill you just as soon as look at you. Move to Spain. Mexican's don't even want to live in Mexico.

Ok...you need to be realistic here. To move to Mexico and LIVE and WORK here is not easy. You must find an employer who will promise you a job and write a letter stating that the job cannot be filled by a Mexican national. Then you can apply for a an Fm3 visa with a work permit. This can take qute a bit of time and several hundred dollars, and huge am'ts of paperwork. You need your diploma, certified copies of all transcripts, , proof of state certification of your university. Your education will be thoroughly investigated. Work visas are usually granted only to people who are highly skilled in jobs that are needed here. To work in your field, you will need to speak fluent Spanish. It would be wise for you to work in tne U.S., gain experience, and take Spanish classes before planning to move to Mexico. Salaries here are DRAMATICALLY lower than in the U.S. Registered nurses here make 1/10 the salary per month that I made in the U.S. Physicaians here earn less than nurses in the U.S. Teachers make $300.00 a month or less. You need to PLAN well, learn the language, get experience in your field, and be very realistic in your expectations before coming. If you could come as a tourist for a couple of months and visit a city you are interested in and research the job market there, that would be helpful. It would be wise to talk to people working in your field in person. It is VERY difficult for a person from the outside to come here and get a government job.

First of all, when you cross the border get your FMT, it costs $22.00 dollars and it is issued in only 20 minutes, be sure to have a valid photo I D on you, your ORIGINAL BIRTH CERTIFICATE or a Current passport.
You are now legally entering into Mexico. Then you will need to get an FM3,which allows you to work after you get a place to live because you will need to prove that you already live in Mexico.
And then you can start looking for a job, but you know what? I AM ASHAMED TO SAY THIS, OK?
Your career is EXCELLENT in U.S. or other country maybe, BUT in my poor country it is dangerous, the system is SO CORRUPTED that you would soon be asked to modify your investigations and if you don't accept you can just... get killed... that is the size of the corruption that we have in Mexico, and I feel like crying when I say this but it is true... I am in Baja, where are you? if you want more info send me an e mail to :

First you do need to learn to speak Spanish. Then you can think about moving to Mexico and finding a job!

There average minimum wage in some places is $4.50 a day. Of course, you will earn more then that, but keep in mind that the jobs are not like in the U.S.
If you are going to try and work without learning Spanish you should live in area were a lot of tourists go. Most people there will be able to speak some English, but you still need to start learning Spanish. You know how annoying it is when you go somewhere and the person doesn't speak any English. well it is the same thing. Spanish is their language and it is respectful to learn it and not expect them to know English. You really just need to learn the basics because it will not be the same as what you learn in the classroom anyways.

If you can, talk to your teachers that you got the degree in. I'm pretty sure they can help you. Or pay close attention to those special schooling commercials they put on tv during the hours of soaps and judge shows, like Devry, Sanford Brown Mackie college, etc. These are just some of the special schools they have where I live. Check to see if they have something like that in Mexico, or talk to someone who's from there.
This may sound weird but look at the Univision station. It's the station for Mexico and check out their commercials. They may show some schools like what you're interested in.
Even though it's easier to take spanish classes to learn spanish, I'd say find a Mexicano who will be willing to teach you the 'real' thing other than those stupid text book lessons.
You can also look up info via the internet on CSI jobs in Mexico. I'm pretty sure it will give you a lot more info than what I've given you.
Also, finding a good paying job in Mexico is like finding a good one here...Slim to nil. Buenas suerte, though.

Wow, congrats on your degree. I'm sure there will be plenty of work there. Try the all big/touristy cities. Monterrey, Mexico City, Guadalajara, or Tijuana. Good luck!
