go to www.visitmexico.com first

After you check what to you want to do, I invite you to take some time and see distances and places... There's no way to visit all beauties from PAcific Ocean in a single trip.

If you want to go all the way to the north stop on Cancun, Merida, Villahermosa y MonteAlban ruins. Then all the way to visit the Mexico city that just return to normal life. Then all the way to the frontier 12 hours from Texas (Mc Allen or Brownsville)... If you want to stay at Monterrey, there are many places of a big city, nothing archeological but it's the second largest city of the country and might be the wealthy... From the frontier to Miami, you are 24 hours standard driving with out going to visit Galveston-Houston, New Orleans and its new look, Jacksonville nor Orlando before you arrive.

Your trip sounds great if you are on a bus trip but if you are driving it will be real tire by the time you arrive to Miami and then all the way back...

MExico is beautiful but take some time to visit all the beauty...You can take an airplane from Monterrey to Miami, its faster and too much relaxer

It's my opinion for your trip that might be great.

Have a nice trip!!

If you dont want to get a bad flavour of mexico dont go to tijuana or el paso

Take the Pan-American Highway into Mexico. There are several "gateway" highways into the US:
5- enter at Tijuana/San Diego Boarder and visit San Diego, Los Angeles, Sequoia, Yosemite, and San Francisco
93- Out of Nogales- explore the southwest (Phoenix, Grand Canyon, Tuscon)
25- Out of El Paso- take it to Santa Fe (lots of art)
35-out of laredo- check out huston and dallas

In terms of going to florida, take 35 from laredo north to 10 in San Antonio, And follow it 1000+ miles to 75 in florida and take it towards Orlando/Tamp/Miami/etc.

A great loop in the west would be take 5 through LA to 10 to 210, then take 15 to 40 to the grand canyon in arizona, cut back to CA and take 58 to bakersfield. Head up 99, visit seqoia, head farther up 99 and check out gold country, yosemite, and then cut over to san francisco. Top it off by taking 1 or 101 back to LA and 5 to the border.

With gas prices the way they are, it may be cheaper to drive to an airport in America near the boarder and fly Southwest (serves just about everywhere and is insanely cheap) to wherever and ride the bus in towns you go to.

Have a great trip!

if you're planning a road trip to the US via Guatemala and Mexico I would suggest the following. You should drive from Belize city to Peten (Guatemala) and go to Tikal (archaelogical site), then take the "Carretera al Atlantico" all the way down to Guatemala city and then take de CA-1 to the Mexican border.
Or you could go directly from Belize to Cozumel, then Cancun and all your way through Mexico till you get to the US

depends what part of the USA you plan to visit. Start heading either east or west or you will find yourself on the wrong coast. The central part of the USA is sparsely populated and rather boring

As mentioned above, to head across the USA (from southern California to Chicago), route 66 is rather nice. You will find that the USA has a lot of open land.

Highway 1 in California and Oregon is very lovely.
New England is lovely in the Fall.

I suggest visiting the west coast area. Visit Las Vegas and Hoover Dam, San Francisco, the Grand Canyon, etc. You will be only a few hours away from Mexico by car then.
