I am thinking about traveling to Ensenada? I have a few questions..?

Hello,
I live 21 miles north of Ensenada, you will love it, you do not have to worry about you car there, they do have nightclubs like Papa's and Beer. Mango Mango.
The food is great the shopping is great.
Please don't stop in T.J. and also avoid Rosarito right now, they has been a lot of rug cartel violence going on and you want to stay out of those towns, Please don't drive at night and stay on the Toll Road.
You want to know how long the drive is from S.D. about 1 hour 1/2.

Ensenada is a great town, good shopping, nice restaurants, friendly people. Park your car in a secure parking lot. Hussong's cantina is one of the oldest in the country, worth a visit. The fish market is a great photo opportunity and the food stands around it offer fresh fish dishes at bargain prices. Tijuana is overcrowded and traffic is nightmarish. Stay on the toll road and don't drive at night. Bien viaje.

I, and my wife live in Tijuana, and commute to San Diego everyday to work. Ensenada is very cool. Try to schedule your trip with the cruise ships so there are plenty of people around. I have driven down many times and TJ and San Diego raise more eyebrows than Ensenada. You will be fine.

From san Diego it's about a 90minute drive, allowing for traffic. I would not take anything of value. Ensenada is a lot safer than TJ but is still corrupt. There is a lot of shopping and, yes, plenty of bars. The city has grown incredibly over the years. South of town is a nice resort called Estero Beach.

DON'T STOP IN TIJUANA, IT HAS THE WORSE OF BOTH WORLDS > U.S. AND MEXICO.

Just go straight to Ensenada, take the toll road. The drive gets very very scenic and pretty.

Ensenada is great! You will like it! Lots of shops, restaurants, lots of biiiiiig cruise ships stop there...so it has to be nice.

On your way to Ensenada stop by a place called PUERTO NUEVO for the lobster, the best! Eat at the popular place with the long line, you will not believe how delicious the food is. It is the #1 lobster place, right by the entrance to Puerto Nuevo. YOU MUST GO THERE!!!!!!!

Other than that, Ensenada is pretty safe. I have never ever ever had a problem there and I go all the time. Oh, I'm a girl!

Wow! Better not to drive, but get good insurance on USA side if you do go. Not a safe thing to do, though. More fun is a weekend cruise to Ensenada, and not expensive at all, as compared to paying for insurance, parking, car gasoline, and all of the other costs.
You can shop and go to the bars, and not worry about driving back. It is a real fun weekend, and everyone should do it once. Bars, bars and more bars.
Tijuana isn't worth going to if you can swing the Ensenada cruise. And how romantic can that be for your gf. Have fun.
