Need to contact the county records department in the city of birth and they will have to pay for a certified copy of the birth certificate. This has to be done through the mail because the certificate usually has to have an original embossed certification, so it can't be faxed etc.
Get on that soon, as you know how red tap bogs things down. May take a while to get it. |

it's not likely that she;ll be able to get one in time for a Feb. trip, even if she had her birth certificate. Sorry! |

Right now that could work because you only need a passport to fly. Does she know where she was born? IF so write to the Dept of records there and she can get a copy of her BC that will be good to use for a passport. I think that if they are going in February there might not be enough time to apply and then recieve your passport. Check because there is a way to get it expedited, for a fee of course. Not sure if there's time for this, but you can get a duplicate birth certificate, usually from the county or city registrar (from where you were born). |

Respectfully, try to get the birth certificate.Go to or call the county courthouse where the person was born. They will ask a few questions. There should be no problem. There once was a mix-up with my Mother & Dad's wedding license. I called many years ago, and the proper people sent it with no problems. |

To be safe I would check with the Mexican Consulate as you were hear too many conflicted stories off the web. |

I think you will find that even if you board an aircraft inside the border zone in Mexico (e.g. Juarez), they will want some tangible proof of nationality before allowing you on board. |
