Here is a serious, correct answer WITH documentaion. you do NOT need a passport to travel to and from Mexico by land at this time. That requirement has been pushed back to a "later" date that has not yet been set, but which will be after next summer. You do need a photo I.D. and after Jan. 31 you must also have your certified birth certificate ( it is a very good idea to have it now.) see site below and read top half of the page carefuly for the current info.

All you need is a valid photo ID and your original birth certificate to travel by car to Mexico right now. MAYBE in the summer the requirement will change but right now you are good to go.

Sorry for your loss)

Take the Rio Grande route.

Just ask some illegals, they'll know for sure.

Seriously, you may well need a passport. They're tightening the rules.

No they will not let you come back without proper identification. Go to your local post office to get started info for a passport.

chicata25
Well that depends on a few facts. Are oyu a Mexican American? If so then most likely yes!
