Probably the one closer to the job, because you have to go there every day. You won't mind a little longer trip when you go to see your friend, because it's for fun.

In Mexico City .... stay close to the job by all means. Unless the area you work is not all that nice.

I used to commute from near UNAM (only a few months) to the Zocolo DT and it was a lot of work. Not all that safe at times either.

Close to your job, friends last forever no matter how far they are, jobs donÂŽt.

well, it depends on you. you should think of what will benefit you the most. do your friend own a car? how about you? cause if you choose the one near the job, does your friend able to visit you? is that put you into advantage to just walk and save gas that turn into saving some money for you. but then if you choose the one near your friend, are you able to come in time with your job and yet have a wonderful bonding with your friend?

as for me, i will choose the one near the job cause i am a workaholic and all my friend lives outside of the country. we keep in touch by e-mail and phone, but my main concern is my job, i don't have to worry about at night, i can just cross the street and ready for bed....

Definitely close to the job. That is your every day life you're talking about. Your friend is probably only on weekends, if even that much. If you have a short travel distance to your work, you will be much happier on a daily basis.

Choose the one close to your job! It is the best thing for you to do. At 8:00 am on week days, you can take for ever to get to your job. Mexico City is the biggest city of the world, and have a lot (really a lot) of traffic. Choose the one near your job (everyone will envy you). You will save lots of hours every week. It doesn't mind if you have a car, or you will use public transportation, either way you will save like 10 hours a week by having an apartment close to your job. It is a great opportunity. Also, you can go everyday to eat to your house, if it is near (in Mexico our big meal is lunch and is at 3:00pm, supper is light and is at 8:00-9:00). Maybe, if your company is from the US, the lunch time will be at the time you are used to.

On the other hand, you can visit your friend at night, or in weekends, so the traffic won't be so bad. You will go to your job everyday, and to your friend's house much less. Also, you can see each other in a restaurant at half the distance.

Trust me on this one, an apartment close to your job is the best decision.

By the way, Mexico City is a great place to live! Just be careful, but it is not as dangerous as it is supposed, but still you need to be careful.

I would get the one that is closest to the job, because of having to drive there every day, unless you see them more than your job.

In Mexico City? please choose the one closer to your job!, traffic is terrible here on weekdays and theres nothing better than living close to where you work! trust me on that walk to my work place (its 5 minutes away from where I live) and I live much much happier
