They are good choices but they are very large resorts.Riu Jalisco has 700 rooms and Marival has 650 rooms. I was thinking of something more intimate like Dreams Puerto Vallarta.(337 rooms) It's rated #5 out of 105 resorts on tripadvisor. I really don't know what your budget is but check out http://www.dreamsresorts.com It looks very romatic.

i was in vallarta about 3 weeks ago and was NOT impressed by any of the big resorts. their beaches were awful! and to be honest, if i had paid big money...i would have been really upset. as someone said, the rosita is really great. very quaint and in a nice more sophisticated area. our hotel was in connection with los arcos, which i felt had the best beach area, as well as great service. you have to walk down the stretch to any clubs...but we found the walk very pleasant and not at all a problem. |

Royal Decameron in Bucerias Nayarit. 15 minutes from Puerto Vallarta airport. I was there last year and it was great! Not too big and not too small. Best all inclusive for your money! Check it out on the web. |

I always stay at the Hotel Rosita, on the malecon. It's an old dame, but has everything I want. It draws a more sedate, sophisticated clientele.
