I saw Chihuahua on the menu in Mexico. Is that the dog meat or something else?

I went to a restaurant in Puerto Vallarta across the street from the Sheraton, and the natural food place had chihuahua on the menu.

thats just a mexican cheese

Maty
You could have seen something prepared Chihuahua style (the way it is prepared in the state of Chihuahua, Mexico) or it could have been Chihuahua cheese, which is very popular and similar to monterrey jack.

I 've been to Puerta Vallarta several times, and they certainly would not serve that in the restaurants there. I think what you saw was a type of popular Mexican cheese.

Chihuahua is a place in Mexico. That's what the dog is named after. I'd imagine what you saw was something prepared in the style of that place. Especially at a natural foods store.
