all you need is your "paper" in order.

You can travel by yourself. I was out of the country by myself loads of times before I was 18, and I have friends who visited the US by themselves before they were 18, too. Just so long as all your papers are in order, and you know who you're staying with here (customs may ask) it should be fine. In my experience, minors usually have an easier time getting through customs than adults do.

You need a passport even though you're still a minor. The maximum age to travel internationally without a passport is something like 2, and that's only if you're traveling with your parents.

You need a passport, but I think that's about it. There are plenty of teenagers travelling around the world. My 16 year old cousin came to visit me from Europe.

miss me!

Contact the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Let them know that you will be traveling by yourself and are under 18 years of age. You might, and will be asked to fill out a form which your parents must sign, somewhat like the Affidavit. This ensures that if should anything happened to you, law enforcement officials would know who to contact, as well be able to help you out.

Be sure to have your legal documents prepared. Driver's liscence and passport.

I don't see why you can't do it by yourself.
