For sure walk around down town, Guadalupe church and the malecon. Go to the down town market to get your local souvenirs. Right across the street from the big church there is mexican traditional food you must try (pozole, tostadas, tacos & tamales) Tony's place it's called "El Campanario"
There is a very nice night cruise called Ritmos de la Noche by the Vallarta Adventure Company. Awesome cultural night open air theater with dinner right on the beach.
The marigalante has quite a pirate show and nice fireworks. I personally prefer the marigalante from shore. lol (very touristy oriented)
Be sure and go to Las Animas beach (can only get there by boat) |

You can try the canopy in El Eden here is a link so that you can check it out! http://www.canopyeleden.com/ Also if you like animals, on the way to the canopy is the Vallarta Zoo. My uncles are actually the owners of it and right now the zoo has a baby lion that people can play with and take pictures with. Right now the White tiger, Bengal tiger, Lion, Puma, and Black Panthers are pregnant and by the time that you get there they may have been born too. Well here is the link for that as well! http://zoologicodevallarta.com/ And for some night life check out downtown (The Malecon) Good luck and have fun on ur trip!! =D |

I'm also going to Puerto Vallarta next week!
My husband and I are going to do the Pirate Ship Booze Cruise and the Los Veranos Canopy Tour. But, that's just us. I'd comment more on what to do but since next week will be my first PV visit, I don't know what is the best!
Have fun!

I don't know, when I go I usually check out the Malcon, and try to get laid at night, but then you have a wife...the beaches aren't the cleanest really. You can, however, check out tequila mexico on the tequila express if you have time to check out the Guadalajara area. That could be classified as "Must Do" |

Marigalante- booze cruise on a pirate ship, steak and shrimp dinner, open bar, live show, and fireworks after sunset over the Pacific-great time
Zip-line tour- flying through the jungle in the mountains- very fun
ATV tour- four wheelers through the jungle
Don't take the timeshare presentation at the airport, they'll hit you as soon as you leave the terminal. You can get a better deal elsewhere. We got paid $300 USD to do a tour with a free breakfast-worth it- just don't buy anything! |
