Do you have court ordered legal custody? If not, for many reasons, you need to get it.... toprotect yourself and him. If you have legal custody youcan claim hi as your dependent, provide medical care...and be safe from having him taken away from you if his irresponsible mother shows up. Anyway... if you do have legal custly and have a court order to show that, you need to have that paper with you to take hij out of the country. If not,l you must have a signed notarized letter from both parents giving you permission to take hi out of the country. You can see the site below to read about this. See section on MINORS under "Entry requirements." If you plan to FLY to Mexico, you both must have passports...and a child cannot get a passport without the signature of both parents. See 2nd site. I hope you can work out this custody issue, you probably will need to consult a lawyer.
