If Mexico is such a bad place to live, why people keep on living there?

I know a lot of people in Mexico who would qualify for immigration to the UK or New Zealand, but even though they qualify and could easily get there, they don't go or don't want to leave Mexico.

I also know people who are Mexicans but where born in the U.S. but keep on living in Mexico all their life

Why is that? if life is so bad there why most people don't want to leave, they have good university education and brilliant experience which would make them very succesful in the UK for example !

Maybe cause life is not bad... I have dual citizenship US and Mexico, plus I could work in Canada but I chose to live in Mexico.

I am educated professional and I can make a good living anywhere I go, and I like Mexico, maybe later in my life I'll try someting else, but for now Mexico is great...I own a great modern condo, nice car, I go out tofancy restaurants, travel a lot and I'm not rich, it's just that Mexico's middle class is growing very fast, it an emerging economy and cost of living is low compared to the US or Europe, what else do you want?

Not all people in Mexico are poor, and many who are poor are happy. Family is very important and they do not want to leave them. Also, many want to stay in Mexico and work to make Mexico a better place to live. I know young people that have gotten a good education and worked very hard to make a good life for their family and contribute to their community. many people in the U.s. and other countries actually know very little about mexico...only what makes the news. Mexicans love their country and want to make changes.

Mexico is a great place to live if you have money. I loved being over there. If you have the cash you will want for nothing. The land is beautiful and the beaches are gorgeous. If you don't have money however, the government isn't very helpful... you are basically on your own. You don't need much $ though because things are generally cheaper there. In Nuevo Laredo for example, you can see a doctor for about five bucks. Mostly people stay because it is their home and all their roots are there.

Because I don't want to live in the USA ¬¬ hahaha Really...I love where I live is a very nice city and big that has all, I can do whatever I want and Mexico is such a nice country with a lot of culture and we have to make it a better place for all the poor people and for our children...

read Wikipedia at least... =D

And what do you suggest the 100 million of us do? Just pack and go? Life isn't really that bad. Because of marriage I moved to the US but I'd very much like to go back some day.

Maybe it has to do with the love we feel for our country, our family, our culture, our food, our friends, our language...

People want to stay at home with family and friends.

Life is not so bad.
Mexico is not a bad place to live.
Yeah, some people have it really bad. It's rough for many. But there are so many good things.
That's why more foreigners are moving there.

Mexico is a beautiful place to live, not only the beaches, but the cities. The 12th economy in the world. Big cities. Universities. Industry. Roads. Healthcare (by the way, free if you can not pay). Pension system.

Beside all this. A beautiful life in family. If you are not enrolled in a drug gang, you can feel safe.
