The legal drinking age here in Cancun is 18, but as long as you do not look 10, they will serve you. Just be smart when you drink and do not let taxi cabs or others take advantage of you. Taxis like to charge tourists double when they can do it. Best way to travel is the local bus....only 65 pesos....which is almost equal to 65 cents. Just be smart and have fun. I would also tell you to be careful with your drinking. A lot of kids come here and really drink way too much because they are not use to large amounts of alcohol. Most of the drinks are not that strong, but it is very easy to drink too much before you know it and that can get you into trouble. Always keep your money close and do not flash it around. It is not unsafe here like many people will tell you, but like anywhere else you should exercise caution.

i live here in cancun and the drinking age is 18.. but there is no point in taking your id to a nightclub because they rarely check for it.. many people start going to the nightclubs here when they are sixteen since they barely ever check for an ID.. good luck! have fun!
oh, btw.. if you are looking for a good nightclub, you'll definitely want to go "the city" or "daddy o"!!

18..be careful....i have seen many get into trouble there...and you don't want to tangle with them...it is very costly...
