My vote is for the "Royals" as well (Royal Sands, Royal Mayan, Royal Islander, CIC, Royal Haciendas, and many more).
They are a true fractal ownership. Lets say they have 1 villa and there are 52 weeks in the year (actually each resort closes 1-whole week every year for upkeep)...that villa can be sold only 51 times. You purchase a certain week at a certain resort and you are the owner. You do have the ability to trade your week or the resort if you wish.
Other timeshares sell and sell and all you own is a week somewhere, some time...if it is available. It is like the airlines over booking a flight hoping some people don't show up...
You should come to Cancun and go on a tour and actually talk with some of the members (which you are encouraged to do). Enjoy a nice breakfast or lunch and make up your own mind. These folks know that their product is not for everyone and take "no" answers gracefully. |

Timeshares arent a good investment. You can rent a condo that is really nice for far less than what you would spend on a timeshare. Also,
what is your budget? That would narrow it down.
There are too many nice properties in Cancun without a price range to go on. Call a travel agent. |

If you're going to buy a timeshare in Cancun, there is only one to buy - the Royals (Royal Sands, Royal Mayan , Clucb International, etc - 2 more I can't think of right now). Check any of the resale market (eBay can provide good data) and you'll see that ONLY the Royals keep any of their value in the after market. All others go for pennies on the dollar. |
