The thing is that our X have many sounds. Sexo and Oxxo have the same X sound, like a 'ks' okso and sekso with an open O (it ends in o like 'cosmic', not like 'ou')
Any of your questions is right, you'll hear 'donde hay' more often though. |

Oxxo is a convenient store in many towns, cities in Mexico. It is pronounced as OKSO the o is between an 'o' and a 'u' in sound.
I would say "Donde esta un Oxxo" but I am not an expert.
As for sex, (you naughty thing!),it is like sex with the o at the end.

Oxxo with the same sound you know in English for the X, and both questions are correct, está and hay.
For your second question: X has different sounds:
"X" as in sexo, exagerado (over the top) hexagono
"J" as in Mexico Xalapa (city) Oaxaca (city and state)
"S" as in Xochitl (female name) and Xochimilco (a lake in Mexico city)
"KS" as in Tuxpan (city) Tlaxcala (city)
"SH" as in Mixiote (lamb dish) Xilofono (an instrument)
Many words include the x in Mexico because they come from Nahuatl words which was the language of the aztecs. |

And yeah, sexo is pronounced like it looks too.
The place it seems to me that you gotta be careful with the x sounds is words that stem from indigenous languages, when it seems to usually take on the softer "swish" sound....like in Xcaret. |

its a shis-s sound except for Oaxaca where the x is an h sound.
Mexican volcano xtacihuatal has a s-ta sound...there is no clear rule. Donde esta cerveza always works for directions. |
